  Procon Inc. founded in Knoxville, TN

  Brian Boling and two other former Philips executives founded Procon Inc. They were one of the first companies to connect GPS technology to analog phones — putting a world of data right in the palms of our hands. From that initial connection, Procon Inc. was born. In its early years, Procon Inc. proceeded to release a host of innovative products including the PetSafe GPS Locator for pet owners; Posi-Track vehicle tracking device; SAT Track and SAT Track Fleet for wireless GPS-based theft recovery; and Contractor GPS for the construction industry.

  Procon Inc. launched ADT’s first mobile safety solution

  After just one year in business, Procon Inc. began forging unique industry partnerships built on its mobile GPS innovations. The first of those partnerships was with home security leader ADT. Procon Inc. was the first company to provide mobile safety services for ADT including fully integrated products, network access, software, and call center support. These services gave homeowners fingertip-access to home-safety features via cell phones for the first time.

  Procon Inc. launched Radio Shack’s Roadside Assistance

  # Radio Shack, seeing the ADT mobile Safety solution, wanted to offer that same peace of mind in an automotive solution to their customers featuring roadside services. And so, the innovation began. One of the first challenges was to figure out how to identify the location of a vehicle in an analog world. Procon Inc. turned to GPS search-and-rescue technologies used by the U.S. Marines and NASA. The research led Procon Inc. to emergency beacon innovations that allowed the military to locate anyone, virtually anywhere on the planet — including in the most remote off-signal areas. Procon Inc. was the only private company granted access to this technology. Procon Inc. provided global beacon services to Radio Shack, enabling them to locate and reach drivers in need of roadside assistance, even when outside of signal range.

  Procon Inc. introduced one of the first analog GPS-based automotive telematics product

  Procon Inc. entered the emerging subprime auto industry with one of the first GPS-based automotive telematics used with analog cell phones. The solution was embraced by Buy Here Pay Here dealerships and vehicle finance companies seeking more efficient ways to protect their vehicle assets and collateral. Procon Inc.’s BHPH and vehicle finance market reach experienced exponential growth.

  Procon Inc. opened first direct marketing call center in Dyersville, IA

  As Vice President of Sales for Procon Inc., David Meyer was a visionary in creating a direct sales process that could scale. This helped Procon Inc. address the burning needs in the marketplace and it became a true differentiator for its innovation in mass distribution. Procon Inc. opened its first direct marketing call center in Dyersville, Iowa. The outbound call center earned a reputation for providing customers with exceptional white-glove service and support.

  Procon Inc. acquired DriveOK

  Up until this point, a supply chain monopoly existed at nearly every stage of manufacturing. Where there are monopolies, comes higher costs that lead to ever-increasing price tags for everyone involved. That’s where Bill Cheney entered.

  
  

  Cheney figured out a way to access the modem technology directly using a Nokia cell phone. Breaking the code allowed him to bypass the middleman, thus cutting costs and driving down the price of GPS tracking systems. DriveOK began increasing their market share. Observing what DriveOK was up to, Procon Inc. bought the company and added Bill to their team. Cheney’s breakthroughs in the Internet of Things (IoT) development, engineering and administrative systems continued to power new connected car technologies over the years.

  Procon Inc. created Procon Fleet Services & Partners with Joe Gibbs Driven to launch FleetLocate

  On the heels of the successful launch of Procon GPS, the company turned its attention to another high-need segment: fleet owners and managers. Partnering with legendary Super-Bowl winning coach of the Washington Redskins and championship race car team owner Joe Gibbs, Procon Inc. established Procon Fleet Services.

  
  

  Procon Fleet Services focused its telematics solutions on improving the way fleet-owning companies managed, tracked, protected and maximized their fleets and assets. Using race marketing, the new brand spread across the USA through business-to-business marketing rapidly building credibility with business leaders and leading companies. Similar to the call center sales, this type of marketing and distribution had never been applied to IoT technology. Once again, Procon Inc. demonstrated that it could not only build solutions – it could sell them in mass quantities.

  Bertram Capital acquired and merges Procon GPS, Procon Fleet Services and EnfoTrace into one company

  Recognizing Procon Inc.'s value and innovative distribution and technology, private equity firm Bertram Capital acquired and merged Procon GPS, Procon Fleet Services and EnfoTrace into one company in 2011. The move marked the merger of three leading mobile resource management companies, rebranded and launched as Spireon.

  Procon Inc. focuses on international market

  Procon Inc. spent the next four years focusing on the international stage and pursued a number of potential licensing deals for the proprietary technologies in Australia, Taiwan, Canada, Latin America as well as the U.S. Procon Inc. bypassed the middleman and directly licensed technologies for GPS location-based services, asset and container tracking, powersports, and teen tracking.

The platform was developed and successfully incubated by Procon Analytics’ leaders, Brian Boling and Bill Cheney, while the pair served as the CEO and COO of Connected Holdings LLC respectively.
  
  Connected Holdings is an Intelligent Services Platform company that was founded in 2014. The company provides entrepreneurs with the IoT platform, infrastructure and connected devices needed to kickstart IoT business ideas. After a successful proof-of-concept and rollout, Connected Holding spun out its automotive business units into a new company, Procon Analytics.
